The Pilates jump board is exactly like it sounds - a board strapped to the end of the Reformer on which you jump. Think jump rope - but on your back! The jump board connects the muscular endurance inherent in the Pilates work to the intense cardiovascular endurance found in repetitive motion exercises like running - but not at the expense of the joints. Core engagement and strength, ankle and leg flexbility and strength and overall body-toning are the main rewards you will see in your body when experiencing the jump board vocabulary. Using the model of a circuit, students will spend 30 minutes stimulating their heart rate while still gaining the length, flexibility and strength of the strap, extension and core work of tradional Pilates.
