On November 18th, 2009 the House voted to pass the Fire Grants Reauthorization Act of 2009, introduced by U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell to reauthorize and fund programs that provide crucial resources to fire departments in Arizona and across the country. H.R. 3791 passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 395 to 31. The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
The bill reauthorizes grants that are made available to local fire departments to purchase response equipment, training, and firetrucks.
