He's my favourite TAMINO that's for sure. Have you listened to his Tamino conducted by Toscanini (Salzburg: 30 july 1937), instead of the famous edition with Beecham. . He's absolutely perfect. And as Radames as well. Just yesteday I listened his Radames (with Hilde Zadek as Aida). I love Roswaenge. And I'm proud to have his Tosca too with Hildegarde Ranczac and Georg Hann (october 1944) and a good selection with Maria Reining!!!

So what exactly is happening here? I've heard that "Mag der himmel euch vergeben" translates to "May Heaven forgive thee", or something to that effect, but what's the scene about?

Prachtig!!!
Thanks for this clip! I'm happy to find someone who is as big a fan of Rosvaenge as I am. He is probably my favorite of all of the tenors of the last century (or this century so far, for that matter).

Yes he Is my favourite tenor. I think nobody like him has been able to sing at the same time and at very top level Tamino, Lyonel, Manrico, Radames and Otello!
Neither Lauri-Volpi. As singer and artist just a word for describing him: immense!
