  • thank you so much, murphy henry! i though it was going to be a near impossibilty of learning what i know now only because of the way you explain everything. casey, are you her daughter?

  • @diceptikon Yes, I am her daughter and have also done several teaching DVDs for the Murphy Method.

  • hello.could you please tell me what type do you suggest for a begginer?a 4string or 5string?or maybe 6string becaouse i play guitar?..thank you very much..

  • It depends on what kind of music you want to play. Bluegrass, country and old-time use a five-string banjo. Irish, celtic, and Dixieland use a 4-string banjo. A six string is usually just a banjo body with a guitar neck attached. So you could play it right away, since it would be the same as the guitar, but it wouldn't really be playing the banjo.

  • Mannn, you make it look so easy....I"m a budding banjo player...novice if you will.

Do you have any tabulature for Banjo in the Hollow? If so , where might I pick it up?

    Thanks again...

    and ah...

  • Our whole learning method is a by-ear method, therefore we don't use tab at all. I encourage you to get the DVD and try learning by ear. You might be surprised at how easy it is!
