What can I say. I want to see Jack's work out there as much as possible. He was one of the greats. If this video gives you chills and pulls your heartstrings, get on over and sign the petition put up by a few devoted WVU fans that requests the Milan-Puskar stadium pressbox be named for Jack. Worthy cause indeed.

Petition to formally dedicate the press box to Jack Fleming:

  • So what was the result of this particular game?

  • @timild90 A loss...as was per usual with Penn State.

  • Jack says "...it will be our pleasure to describe the action." No Jack, the pleasure was all ours.

  • Thanks for putting this together. It speaks to why we love college football. Jack Fleming was awesome.

  • Indeed he was.

  • We miss you, Jack.

  • The world was simpler then, and better.

  • @wvuweaponX I thought this was the 1984 game which we won

  • Jack was the Mountaineers for those of us who could only listen on the radio. From my first recollection of a devestating 36-35 loss to the evil empire from Pitt to the amazing td run of Major Harris over the Nittany Lions and yes even the blocked punt to Miami... Jack was the sound of WVU. I know he was gone, but the Sugar bowl win over Georgia must have had his spirit smiling. Go Mountaineers

  • How I wish so much that we could somehow bring you back.

  • @wvuweaponX I do know that the series was lopsided, but the only Penn State game I actually remember was 1988, when I was 12. Of course we won that one. Not too long after that the we stopped playing them.

  • I realized that players come and go, and coaches and coaching staff, also .. but the one given that we knew that would always return was the team of Jack Fleming and Woody O'Hara. It has not been the same since both of them left .. but then, I don't know that I would ever want it to be. We miss you both.

  • @wvuweaponX ....agreed.
