Kazan is the capital of the Russian republic of Tatarstan. This is a city famous for its religious harmony, where mosques and Orthodox churches stand side by side, and where Tartars and ethnic Russians mingle with nationalities from all across the world. The leader of the Bolsheviks, Vladimir Lenin, along with many other famous Russians, including Leo Tolstoy, actually went to university in Kazan.

The Russian famous Vostok watch factory has been in business here since 1942. Rubin a local football team - have been the best team in Russia for quite a while, and they were about to take on the best team in Europe! Find out more about this city and its people from James Brown on RT

wow your ignorance is showing.. "against their will"" So what's your point??Russia is a colonial power?? How many military bases Russia have around the world? The US has over a thousands.. Who is presently occyping Iraq, AFganistan, Libya and on and on??? You know it's against EVERY international law for a region to sucede without the approval of the country it is secceding from? I'm sure you already know that..

  • @xMaXiMuSx And again, California can vote to secede if it pleases.... Give the same rights to Tatars and Chechens!

  • @xMaXiMuSx All are free to run in Puerto Rican election and they will even get money from the government for their campaign. Also the pro independence people! Yes Tatarstan and Chechnia are part of the RF. Against their will... Like any colonial power, Russia is violating the rights of these countries. All I am saying: give the Tatars and Chechens free and democratic elections! But then, these rights don't even have Russians in Russia...

  • @paulmattt

You know many Mexican politicians dont recognize California as part of US.. They look at it as occupied Mexico territory.. Should we give them back their territory?? You know checnya has been part of Russia longer than Cali part of the US? or did I mention that already.

  • @paulmattt

Lol of course no serious candicacy would be allowed to vote in Puerto Rico.. It's controlled completely by the US.. Tatarstan and Checnya are a part of Russia you idiot.. What part of that do you not understand??? Puerto rico is not even a state you clown and it's still ocuppied..

  • @xMaXiMuSx There are three forces in Puerto Rico: pro Commonwealth, pro statehood, pro independence. All three legal. The pro independence party won about 4.5-5% in the last legislature elections. All I am saying: give the same rights to Chechens and Tatars! Do you know that the Tatars cannot elect they own president, which is the law under the constitution? Current president was nominated by the colonial power of Putin, against the Tatar constitution!

  • @paulmattt

you are an idiot..They do not want to?? Tell that to occupied Puertrico.. You are clueless man...

  • @xMaXiMuSxEvery American state has that choice. E.g. Hawaii: majority of population is Asian, main religion Buddhism. They could secede any time, but do not want to. Chechnia wants out for decades! Lets give them a free referendum!

  • @paulmattt

ok let's have state in the US that choice, let's give all different langauge speaking state that chouce, let's give western australia that choice, let's give puertorico that choice.. You are missing the point.. There was no move for indepdence there, it was western financed to break up and weaken Russia.

  • @xMaXiMuSx Well, let the Chechens have a free election, with international observers, if they want to be independent or not.
