Classic old 1984 footage performance of "la embarcacion" by the late Gilbert Deanda with Robert Fernandez and Los Tejanos in San Angelo Texas. Incredible Tejano artist who was lead vocalist for Tortilla Factory in the 70's.

  • Gracias for dropping by, Gilbert Deanda de verdad a great vocalist. He also played guitar and bass. I remember listening to him singing Jose Felicano tunes. His take on "Somos Novios" with the Original Tortilla Factory band is a classic.

  • When I daydream about yesterday, it includes my times playing with these guys on stage and dancing to Gile 's singing. What beautiful voice, wonderful man, such great times....

  • Gilbert Deanda had such a wealth of talent and passion in his voice that so few have as natural as he had. I met him in the early 70's when he performed at the Grand Ballroom in San Antonio Texas. He played guitar and sang and had the crowd of over 3000 standing dancing and just listening to him deliver song after song. What a great show.......rdavila153@aol.com

  • Gile Deanda, mi buen amigo, my good friend. I remember the songs, dances and good time we had in San Angelo. My buddy died too soon and his talent will live on on vinyl, tape, CD and the net!

  • "El Coyote", only the best tejano singer EVER

  • Thank God for the internet, and YouTube so we can all enjoy performances and music we would not otherwise have at our disposal. This guys voice makes my heart ache. He was a friend and co-writer with my brother, but I never had the honor of meeting him, and didnt know he had passed away. His voice lives on

  • I remember seeing Gilbert for the first time, he sat in with Lil Joe in Houston. He sang Joe's songs with ease hitting all the high notes. I thought who is this guy and what pipes!!

He was a great singer with lots of talent. RIP Gilbert

  • Thiers not too many singers better than this man Gilbert
