He's only 21 years old! And he plays like Makelele! I'm sure, that he'll be better than french international!

  • @casualastheycome 11 times? :O

  • i wish he stayed at LFC :( a damn good midfielder! i'm not sure what Benitez was thinking at the time.

  • beautiful song (The Feeling - Sewn)!!!

  • @Dunk1970 he IS NOT ten times the player lucas is.

  • Ten times the player Lucas is. We need a player with the power, pace and tackling ability of Momo Sissoko back in the LFC midfield. His short passing was good enough and he could dribble really well. Yeah, less said about his shooting the better, but then hey, Lucas can't shoot for toffee either.

  • @IsaacLungu fair points but he was only 21-22 when he was with us and players often improve their passing with maturity especially those who aren't gifted from day 1. i liked the guy for a few reasons, one that set him apart from alot of DM's was his ability to run all day, making him no more likely to get caught out in the 80th than the 1st minute. i also liked him because he had the stomach for the fight. i do get what you meant though about too many athletes and not enough footballers.

  • @casualastheycome I agree completely with your analysis of the role that he plays but he is not a special player. At Liverpool I was impressed with his ability to win tackles but equally impressed with his ability to give the ball away. He has made improvements since. The likes of Yaya Toure have raised the bar in terms of the skill set a "DM" should or can have.

  • @IsaacLungu i disagree with the footwork statement, good foil for an alonso player, he bridged the gap between hamann and masch for us perfectly and if masch never arrived he would've played that role for ages. he's a tool player like say etherington, or heskey, not much point in etherington unless you have big strikers who are better at meeting crosses than chasing through balls or in to feet, not much point in heskey but to be a physicall distraction from a goalscorer. but they do their job

  • No footskills and a very poor passer of the ball. Just and athletic black dude of which there are many i.e Papa Bouba Diop.
