I thought I was pretty specific: I read a young man's blog. He had wondered for many years why he wasn't like his friends, and was finally diagnosed. He referred to himself as "autistic" since he felt it was part of his being, not a disease he had. To each his own, I guess.

@eternitarian I think you may have that backwards. Many people diagnosed with autism do not prefer to be characterized as autistic, but would prefer to be recognized as 'having autism' or 'being diagnosed with autism'
They are not "Autism." They are Human.

I have cerebral palsy and got music therapy for several years. I was getting it to help deal with depression. It greatly increased my self confidence and ability to express feelings. I love to watch the examples of the wide scope of things that music therapy can help. He has good rhythm. Maybe some music lessons are in his future? :)
