This is a rap to tell all you
That there is something you can do.
Recycle, recycle bottles and cans,
Come on now! Theres nothing to it, man!

How you recycle is now misunderstood,
Single stream is taking over this hood.

Lets point out the obvious, recycle bottles that are glass
Tin and aluminum can without all the mass.

Cardboard, paperboard any kind of box
It doesnt matter as long as it rocks.

Newspaper, magazines, mail and greeting cards
Recycling these is not even hard!

Office, photo, wrapping, tissue paper too,
Any kind of paper that you can glue

Phonebook, paperback, hard without a cover,
Any kind of book that you can uncover!

Paper towels and toilet paper cores
The brown piece in the middle you cannot ignore!

Shredded paper in a clear plastic bag
Yes, it must be clear, I dont mean to nag.

Plastics, of course, numbered 1 through 6
Take off the caps, we cant let em mix.

Listen up bro, Im not quite yet done
Stop and listen now before you jump the gun.

There are some things you cant put on the road
Otherwise the whole system might explode!


Plastic bags, aluminum foil & pie tins are no good
Plastic caps and lids, now thats understood
Waxed paper and cardboard, light bulbs, windows, mirrors
Now you understand just a bit clearer
Any broken glass, batteries or tires
Household items and Styrofoam is not desired
Paper towels, napkins and tissues, too
Number 7 plastics or ones you have no clue!
Theres a few more you might not remember
But if I continue now, it might take till December.


Thats all folks, theres one thing left to say
