Who is the Church for?

The Church is filled with all kinds of people.
Many are content to simply assemble in order to do things together,
and then return to their lives.
But for some, questions will start to bubble into the surface of their faith:

Is this what Jesus intended for His followers?
Who is the Church for?

Why does the world need the Church?
What was the Church intended to be?
What is the Church NOT?
What is the Good News?

What about the outsiders, the forgotten, the abandoned, the excluded?
How does the Church advance God's Kingdom?
Are God's People hiding from life and avoiding the broken world?
Is God's Kingdom on Earth meant to be an escape from the world?

The WHOLE CHURCH (Jesus' family on earth) is "called out" to SHARE the WHOLE GOSPEL to the WHOLE WORLD as actually being GOOD news, AND JOIN Jesus in His worldwide restoration project (Advancing God's Kingdom).

We Christians are meant to be the Whole Church, with the power of the Whole Gospel, with purpose for the Whole World!


This whiteboard video was made by Jeff Maguire and Brian Hurst. Their task was to show what was originally meant by the words "church" and "gospel". The concept came out of the evangelism section of the Lausanne Covenant. Thanks to Brian Hurst for the drawings (check his stuff out at www.thequietsociety.com) and his wry sense of humor. The video was first shown at Mariners Church (www.marinerschurch.org) on October 22 and 23, 2011
