I put the wiring from behind the dash back into the car to check if the engine works before pulling it.

under 50,000k on the car and the engine, BUT it hadn't started in 25 years.

Until this weekend where I fixed the fuel pump (sorta) for 2 dollars.

Thanks Karen!

  • I've actually not heard an L28 sound so nice.

  • hahah. yeah it sounds pretty bad ass at 7k rpm.

it was warm in this video, actually. That was the first night I got the car started, and then I fired it up again when a couple of friends begged me to hear it.

I mean, for a car that didn't start for more than 20 years... not too bad. LOL :-D

  • you're right. engine was just cold, up here in Canada during the fall :-P

what i did was plug up the hole on the AFM connecting hose with some aluminum duct tape, and retarded the timing a bit with the dizzy. Then I adjusted the idle air screw.

Now that it works... RB30 is getting built, and this is getting pulled =)

    Cheers Fuzz.

  • i think my fuel pump is dying... soooo it idles quite low =/

  • sounds incredible.

  • Time to hook the exhaust back up!

  • sounds like your engine is cold, idling at like less then 500 rpm, i had my fuel pump replaced with a kick arse new one, and it dosent change the idle. your fuel pump would cause break down at high revs as well as at lower revs. dont think its the pump.if u had SU's on it, you could ajust that in about 3 secs with a screw driver :). but ur car sound nice at high revs.

  • still sounds good thou
