To me Obama is just another president. But I do realize how important it is to people like Coolio and Latoya who might want to see the inauguration because for them, it is not only important, but another wall falling down. I would feel the same way if it was an openly gay president. It is history

@arabhorseband yes, and the same way that heroin abuse, kilts, and domestic violence might be used for Scotland.

uh no thats not what it means its means like ...you know thats something unexpected about you. Im black and american and i know this expression is used in the uk for people of any race ulrika isnt being racist i swear.

OK, I agree with most of your comments, but this one is a bit over the top. Firstly, there are vast swathes of the nation where this stereotype does apply, almost to a 'T'--while it may not be the typical American, I think it's a valid subsection..haven't you ever watched the 'human interest' parts of the news? The tasks as a whole represented American archetypes fairly well, IMO, and was archetypal in the same sense as sombreros, burritos, and margaritas might be used for Mexico.

It wasn't them being nice. They knew it would make good TV. It was a way to integrate the inauguration into the show without being too obvious about it, so it only benefited the show.
