Nowadays, Wurundjeri Way is the name of a road in Melbourne.

It runs between the biggest train station and a football oval in the city. Wurundjeri is the name of the native people of this area of land. Their elder, Tullamareena was captured by the Australian police in the 1800's after setting fire to the place that gaoled two members of his tribe. He was taken to Sydney for trial and possible hanging, but his case was thrown out of court because he could not spek the white man's language. He was left in Sydney to wander back to his homeland, the place we now call Melbourne. He wasn't seen again.
Today we have named a freeway and an airport after him... spelled 'Tullamarine'.

The Bunjul, the giant white bird, is a sacred, special being (the statue you see in this video clip is now perched on Wurundjeri Way is an artist's representation of it), it is said to offer people guidence if they ask for it. Always available.
Please excuse my whiteman's interpretation of all of this, but one day, driving through Wurundjeri Way, I had to pull over to write about it. This song, with Aaron Nakagawa's magical help has become the result.
