I have filmed this couch lawn in Kellyville, NSW, Australia. This strange motley appearance has happened to this lawn each Winter for the last 2-3 years. I have made enquiries with some Australian Turf academics and experts, and no one seems to know what is happening. If you can help please contact us via http://www.LawnGreen.com.au/ - we would love to know so we can serve our customers better!

  • do you know how to get rid of it?

  • @Antonio29141 Tanks for your question, but unfortunately no I dont know. It appears the experts are even having trouble with this. It only occurs in Couch grass (that is, Bermuda Grass to those in North America).

  • it looks scorched. you need a tad of fertilizer and a water SPRINKLER on at all times...

  • @TheSpitfire91 Appreciate your feedback, but this video was taken in mid Winter 2010 in Sydney, Australia.

  • This little wavy “brain” pattern merely shows that parts of the bermuda registered the frost and assumed it was time to go dormant for the winter. ALL of it will go dormant as temperatures go lower, and this is normal. So, no worries! Just remember your lawn still needs water, to keep it insulated from the freezing winter temperatures, so once or twice a week, when we have a nice day, give it a drink. (Lawn care is not just for summer...)

  • i got miracle grow lawn feed and it works lush just 3 days and my lawn looks sweet however im stinll trying to grow in the patches as ive put many seeds down about 3 boxes lol
