Fairfield Art Teacher Mr. Seaton and Multimedia Technician Mr. Gove have been running a series of stop-frame animation workshops with local primary school children. During these sessions year five students create storyboards, backgrounds and characters before using portable animation setups to bring their narrative to life.
Each animation is based around one of the rights enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UNCRC is the uniting focus of the Bristol EC1 Extended Schools Partnership of local primary and secondary schools in our area, of which we are proud to be a member. This series of workshops is part of our commitment to acting as a creative hub for our local community in line with Fairfields Specialist School status in Performing and Visual Arts.
Children from several local primary schools within the EC1 Partnership will be coming to Fairfield in the week beginning 6th July as part of our Arts Week to participate in a variety of exciting activities including advanced animation sessions in the Fairfield Media Lab. Arts Week will culminate in a show on the evening of Friday 10th July, showcasing the work of the most gifted and talented artists and performers from all the schools in the Partnership.
