lol! do u really think ppl care about what ur going to buy or not? you are one person. buy what ever your into. oh and if you buy fake Rolex then Im sure you wont be buying "BMW" "Mercedes Benz". and yes they are imitating high end brands at the moment. However, the difference is Toyota actually launched a luxury brand. Hyundai almost did that, but it was too expensive. So, what are they more concerned with; providing the luxury experience at exclusive dealers or saving money? Lexus gained respect by offering the service. They're very different things. I don't think brand(badge)-less imitation of other luxury cars is impressive. Especially when it doesn't even offer the features of the cars it copies.

I meant to say was as good as any luxury car in its class. Of course you can't compare with Bently or Rolls Royce or Ferrari which costs 100's of thousands more. It'd be ridiculous. Performance wise, Technology wise, Genesis is pound for pound on par with Lexus and BMW. Only thing it lacks is Branding. Which takes time. How long did it take Toyota to rebrand themselves as Lexus and it was accepted and praised? This is Hyundai's first effort in luxury. I'd say impressive

As good as any luxury car? No. Sure, it is competitive but the problem is that people think it is the best thing to come in ages... That simply isn't true. I am merely pointing out that there are reasons the price seams too good to be true. Because, it is. Compromise and Genesis go hand in hand. Where you think you are saving money, you are losing features, quality, technology and even brand recognition (it doesn't even show it's own badge after all). Sure it's competitive, just...

What Swiperluck is saying is that Lexus grew by learning from Merce and BMW. True for Hyundai to go one more step, they need to rebrand their luxury line. They already proven that they can do luxury in terms of technology and quality build, only thing left for them to do is Re-branding. Which will be next step. And I'm sure Hyundai will take in time. What Hyundai proved with Genesis is that they can build a car that's as good as any luxury car in the market with competitive price. Kudos
