Both political ads you picked carried a lot of momentum; Chrstine O' Donnell's had the opposite effect towards her campaign (it convinced people that she was bat-shit insane, if they hadn't believed it already), while the Swift-Boat Vets for Truth destroyed John Kerry, even they were baseless accusations. The only one that I felt did more damage to a campaign was Reagan vs. Michael Dukakis in 1984.
I actually thought this was a very good video. Cool idea. Yes, those were effective ads, oh my goodness. I also think a big reason why John Kerry lost is the same reason why Mitt Romney will lose in 2012 - they're smooth, bland and unelectable. Kerry was wooden and he had no charisma. Bush had charisma (as in average, ordinary ppl would want to have a beer with him, but not Kerry). Also, it was war time, so Americans would never switch presidents.
There was a add in Canada that made fun of the prime ministers mouth because he had a harelip.
It had the totally opposite affect they wanted everyone just got pissed off and they ended up with like 3 or 4 seats.
