I think this is from a J Video diary broadcast on Tvs in 1998. Or maybe not. Nice moves either way.

  • @soulbrother61 Yeah - like I need any instruction from the "Look-at-all-my-badges Divs brigade" LOL

  • @drwhatson come out your time capsule "ya knob" there is more to Northern Soul than Blackpool mecca and Ian Levine, ya cock

  • whats the track in the background?????

  • @RitmoNo1 But where's the evolution? Northern dancing (and clothing) was never static in the early years (1970-73) and changed with the tides. Only with the mass Wigan influx after 1975 did a so-called Northern Soul 'style' of dressing and dancing become eternally set in amber, like some fossilised fruit fly. Wigan Casino was ahead of the game in just one respect - it pre-empted Jurassic Park.

  • @drwhatson Well - think about it - Breaking, Popping and Locking came out in New York in the late 70's and it is still used today in pop videos etc. Is that contemporary? If contempoary moves were used it would cease to be Northern Soul style - I mean a Waltz is still a Waltz decades after the creation. I have to agree with you though about the clothes - I was never a big fan even though I wore them at the time.

  • i bet it was dead good

  • watch our videos you young whippersnappers, soulies from wiga/bolton/ dundee at the TWISTED KNEE SOUL CLUB WIGAN:ages from 15yrs old to 52 yrs old"FIDEM -SERVANTE"

  • "Northern Soul moves..." (Yeah right, C.Torch 1972!!)

When, Oh when are they going to actually EVOLVE and adopt some contemporary moves (and clothing!)? It's a damned joke.

  • ...got it...
