  • You forgot the short-notice Referendum 71 in Washington state, where Equal Rights Washington and the ACLU put together a coalition that (for the first time ever) had a state-wide election AFFIRM domestic-partnership rights. Not the courts. Not the legislature. The people. The Washington Poll clearly suggested that the demographic change Nate Silver had predicted was materializing and that, demographically, the tide is with marriage equality.

  • @rorybowman Yes, quite right, I should have included that! It was a big deal, especially in light of the legal fight that ensued over revealing the names of donors. It was very encouraging that SCOTUS rejected the silly claims about Big Bad Gays harassing people!

  • Meanwhile, in Iowa... Gay marriages take up 10% of the marriages done in the state, and over 5 million in revenue due to marriage tourism just for gay weddings this year. There are no riots in the street, no mayhem, no cats and dogs living together. "Fields of Opportunities" and "Life Changing" are the slogans for Iowa. I think it's pretty accurate.

  • I say we put it to a vote! Oh, wait...

  • Gay Marriage is Biblically wrong & a sin but I suppose if you don't believe in God then it doesn't matter. God doesn't hate Gay people but does hate the Gay lifestyle

  • It was good to see the history of the Prop 8 issue. People get tired of rallies. All that shouting and demonstrating doesn't seem to help. Having organized two rallies in Vancouver, Canada, and seeing the dwindling interest, my fiance and I decided to make a documentary of American couples who sought freedom in Canada and still fight the hate they left behind. The film will premiere at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. A YouTube search for "Love Exiled" will yield the trailer.

  • we are winning over this hate... think about this month, we repealed DOMA , Agentina is now a equal nation , all the new surveys show more people support equality and not hate. we wont have to think about this anymore in about 3 years if we keep up this fight . equal rights for alll

  • I love "SOME GUY floats a ballot measure to ban divorce." Haha, John Marcotte FTW!

  • @Kevitivity

    Haha you made me laugh.

We have done that, twice :)
