I was thinking of getting a Chilean rose but I have some concerns. I understand that being a tarantula they will be venomous but for the most part are they pretty well tamed pets? Are they high maintenance? I get everything on the living conditions as I have been so excited about getting one I have read about them nonstop but I keep getting various different answers on feeding them as well.

@Matthewblake30 Nah they're actually really easy to care for. you may already have it by now but if you want a spider i'd really suggest a Chilean Rose. theyre very docile and calm, meaning they wont run like hell if u try to pick em up. They also eat maybe once or twice a week. I have one and i've had her almost 6 years now :)

My cousin has had a female rose for about six years. Very mellow and docile. She's handled most days, and has never bitten or flicked hairs. Most are pretty relaxed, although you do get the odd one with an attitude, much like people really. They are such beautiful creatures though. I love the way they move.
My Rose is younger than yours but she is just as docile and easily handled, but she hasn't shed her skin for nearly a whole year, and like i said she is young...you ever had any problems like that?

Your tarantula is young and some of them shed at different rates, so don't worry she will in time. =)
My tarantula sheds around once every 4 months, but she is around 2 years old.
She'll shed in time. =)
