  • You mention that we use the same filter that we used to filter out the silver chloride. Has the AgCl already been removed from the filter? Do you risk re-contaminating the gold with silver? Why do you make this recommendation?

  • @LeoAdvrider

At this point ( 0:34 ), it doesn't really matter...

The solution is already barren of gold. The gold stays in the beaker to be washed.

  • Great video series, thank you kindly for sharing, much appreciated, I have a question, how long can you keep Au in solution(first stage of dissolving concentrate? Is there a danger of dehydration of acid and losing Au or can it be kept suspended an extended period, and if so (lol) can it be added to. sorry, I have no history of chemistry but find this fascinating as a gold prospector.

  • @NovascotiaProspector

Gold chloride solution can be stored for very long time, just as any other dissolved salt.

You can cock the buttle and air it every now and then.

You must make sure there's no excess nitric in case you make Aqua Regia before storing it.

  • Bro, is there any other way we can do this without using chemicals? and when using chemicals how much of the recovered gold do you lose? And for the wieght of cpu how much gold can you get, say i have a kilo of cpus then how much gold can i recover from them? Great videos man, good work

  • @falim2007

Regarding cpu's (ceramic)... a kilo can produce anywhere from 90$ to 250$... depends on type....

Unfortunatly, there's no way around using chemicals in refining....

If you thing about it, even smelting uses chemicals...

No need to be afraid of chemicals, just know them and the safety measures required for using them.

  • nice! i get it now! its not so disimular to refining silver only you dont use copper to knock the wanted metal out of solution! ;) thanks man!!

  • Nice videos they are awesome, thanks for sharing it. You really triggered my interest in trying to do it as well, in the future. I have a couple of questions though...

Can i by all these chemicals that are needed legally ?, i mean is it eazy to get them ?

And how safe is it (i mean the toxins that come out) ?

  • @indeedItdoes i realy hated chemistry up untill now...but this video makes chemistry awesome and simple :D keep up the good work! Thank you again!

  • @FreeTheCross

    hehe, Thanks mate :)

There's a good chance you could reach this purity with a third refining cycle.

It is a known fact that when Different reducing agents, used at each refining cycle improve purity.
