  • hey Paul , thanx for the gr8 explanation and clarification !! could you also explain the role of push-ups , uneven push-ups to restore the scapular mobility, they have helped my shoulder problem a lot but i have also noticed that probably the way i have been doing this (instinctively or cos of the state of impingement injury due to strained rhomboids & mid/lower traps as it happened to me)...is only addressing the retraction of the scapula

  • sidhyarth,

We just put up some of Paul Zaichik's videos. You should visit a therapist in your area, who will be able to test you and help you.

  • this is a 9 yr old problem....which got delayed due to various incompetent therapists and doctors here never helped healing the real cause...i have improved by 200% since a year and half by taking matters into my own hand and using various resources available on the net and my own understanding of them....but i have still a long way to go, i may have just cured 40% (will come to know more) but in 9 years i am feeling the best now...thanx for the reply anyway!!

  • I am not a specialist, so I don't have Paul's expertise on this, but I can recommend Rolfing and other deep tissue release techniques. They are expensive so research them. Also you can get a foam roller or a ball and try to releases those areas.

Most doctors don't help unfortunately. I wish I could help you more.

  • Thanks for the video, man. Very informative.

  • @Bodyweightculture Hi mate, firstly that was an incredibly refreshing and interesting video- thank you very much. It's good to see someone who can see beyond the preconceived notions. I would trust you over any physio around this way for sure! You have made me realize what has caused my shoulder instability and subluxations. I indeed always refrain from releasing the scapulae.

I now have pain when in the hands behind head position or when holding the bar in a squat. What should I do?

  • I watch your video i have the same problem & i thank u for understandding your

    message. onny from NEW ZEALAND

  • Man! this video is great, I wish I could talk to you everyday.

  • hi, i am 26 active male. I have been to 2 PT in the last month with regards to an injury I believe has contributed to my shoulder pain (spiking a volleyball without full transfer of force to the ball). I would like your feedback as to what may be the cause.

I have pain in mid range while doing a cuban rotation (60-80 degrees), as well when the exact movement is performed while i position my wrist in front of my face in about the same range. Pain carries over to handstand pushups and pushups.

  • It's best that you consult a medical practitioner.

  • so u can guess how these simple techniques like deep tissue stuff and foam rolling are so effective!! ....thanx a lot again !! byw ur channel videos kick ass!

  • hey sure thanx for the reply!! in fact my real recovery started some one and a half year back when i got to understand trigger points and thats how i got started with deep tissue massaging with indigenous techniques practiced here in India (called ayurveda)..thats when i saw some light at the end of the tunnel...and from then on i purchased a PVC pipe to self massage and got back to strengthening...so much so am getting back to doing supported handstands within a year...
