Dismissive of democracy, the author perhaps supports the Maoist struggle.

Significantly the more so, by her using the simile 'MINORITY vs MAJORITY' saying, "What the Muslims were to the BJP, the Maoists are to the Congress" !
==========
Karan Thapar : Hello and welcome to Devil's Advocate. In her latest series of essays, Arundhati Roy sounds deeply dismissive of the Indian democracy and perhaps supportive of the Maoist struggle. Why does she take these positions? That's the key issue I shall explore today with Arundhati Roy.

Let's start with your cynical view of Indian democracy. In your essays, you say the 'Beacon is fading,' you say it's being hollowed out and emptied of meaning, you say that Indian democracy no longer can be relied upon to deliver the justice and stability we dreamt it would. Why have you come to this conclusion?

  • this guy is a gandu and needs a slap. let the lady talk u ass hole . shes rasing good points here

  • @asyhwh

    I know that, but this is what the news media was crapping about.

  • @narendrakothapal1987 You know the middle class in India is around 50 million. India is 1200 million. Anna Hazare supporters, read middle class, can never change the government on their own. Thus using protest to subvert the government, not democracy.

    Democracy has development stages. India is NOT a mature democracy. For middle class and democracy, read Aristotle. US and Europe are better democracies than India, they have largest proportion of demos in middle class. Better Demos.

  • @asyhwh

    The problem is not the corporations themselves, but the means for delivery of products, just vote for a govt that'll make the government compensate the poor properly, and I still get my product, what's wrong with that?

    So being a customer is a crime, what a moron.

  • @asyhwh

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,

    Just a few days ago you guys were decrying the Anna Hazare movement, shrieking that the middle class is out to subvert democracy, now you say it's a middle class invention.

    How do you bring about the development for low fertility rates(my grandfather didn't have this problem, mind you), you work, not beg for reservations, freebies, voting for caste, etc.

  • @narendrakothapal1987 For a better democracy, you need better demos. Democracy is Middle class invention...

  • @narendrakothapal1987 Who do corporations work for. For people who are going to buy their product. Their biggest market is you. THE MIDDLE CLASS.

  • @narendrakothapal1987 Fertility rate in Japan is low and fertility rates in Bangladesh is high. Fertility rate in Bihar is high and low in Kerala. Where there is development, the fertility rates become low. This happens due to host of reasons. Low Child mortality rate, other sources of entertainment than sex, late marriages, and this is called development. I am not a leftist and no intention to change your views. Answered to you initially cause you were writing the same post over and over again.
