Love these arrangements, although I think I prefer Nikolai Tokarev's renditions actually. Simon Trpeski also does quite good interpretations. The Pas de Deux is pure magic...I'd like to play it one day but some of those runs up and down the keyboard are extremely daunting.

Эта аранжировка Щелкунчика -- настоящий подарок для меломанов. Уникальное исполнение. Так исполнять может только тот, кто любит.

Yes, thanks billions for uploading this. Pletnev is beyond comprehension --- and the last movement is so incredibly beautiful. Very moving.

This has to be some of the best piano playing I have ever heard...my god..

@JoannaMeier sounds like an exciting little marriage you have on your hands there! I wish I could talk my wife into experimenting with me watching her watch youtube while she nods in time - but she's just not that openminded.
I can only imagine what you 2 swingers will be doing tonight!

Mikhail Pletnev -- as the one designated to encourage musical appreciation and participation in our beautiful country, I salute you. Your musicianship is superlative and the Muse Herself bows in your direction. Thanks

Brilliant. He has almost as many 'phantom third hand' passages as Thalberg. My husband has apparently just watched me nodding in time for the last five minutes.

Speachless....This is fantastic!

Clearly, this was written for either 3 or 5 hands. Very clever juxtaposition, like when Glenn Gould recorded his Meistersinger transcription. That said, Pletnev is Very Great Genius, indeed....BRAVO, Maestro!
The last moviment (Grand Pas de Deux) (2:17) is one of the most beautiful melodies ever composed!! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the melodie that he composed is a G major scale... but is beautiful.
