Chennai-Tamilnadu till recently had only one Digamber Temple for Tamil jains.the fact is that many villages -suburbs around Chennai were once flourishing jaina villages- for example Puzhal, vichchur,Vilangadupakkam, sinnampedu, Mogapper, kolappakkam, mangadu, Iyanampakkam etc .Most of these have vestiges of the dilapidated Jinalayas.Some of them were reconstructed recently and brought to worship. Some of the temples are newer ones, constructed recently to cater the needs of digamber jain people migrated (deserted )from their villages and settled in Chennai. One is the famous Kolaththur Vijaya Parswanathar jinalayam. constructed 8 years ago by the munificent,Sri G.Ramesh nainar.a visionary who has contributed a lot for the cause of the society and religion. This Vijaya parswanatha jinalayam is a beutiful temple dedicated to Sri parswanatha. Here continuously various festivals, Poojas, vidhans, religious discourses, community related social activities are going on right from day one .The person behind all these philanthropic activities is Thiru G.Ramesh nainar.His native place Thirupanamur- Karanthai has one of the very famous , oldest jinalayas in Tamil Nadu.
In Vijay Parswanatha jinalaya -Chennai, from 30th April to 9th May-2010 Kalpathruma Mahamandala Pooja vidhan is takinplace. this video recording shows you the celebrations of the 5th day. In the Holy presence and guidance of Poojya 108 Sri Upadhyaya Nijanandha Nirgruntha maha Muni this vidhan pooja is taking place. 105 Sri Prasannamathi Aryaka also present and blesses. The very famous Thirumalai -Arahanthagiri Sri jain Mutt head Sri Dhavalakeerthy Battark ji conducts the Vidhan.please visit Sri vilay Parswanatha jinalaya at Kolaththur- chennai- It is nearer to Anna nagar. on the way to Puzhal (Pedhills) on the Chennai- Calcutta National Highways.
