Lafayette School in Waterloo Iowa

This abandoned school in Waterloo Iowa was purchased by a developer years ago. I like to see old buildings be restored but they have done nothing to preserve this one and now it is beyond repair. It now just sits and continues to lower the value of all the properties around it. How much longer will it continue to just sit? The floors are completely rotted through. I didn't go on the 3rd floor because I didn't trust the stairs and floors. Enjoy.

I have always wanted to get into this school, and have tried a few times but never did get in... how DID you do it? I love going in buildings like this.. and rath, have you ever gone into the old bomb factory in w'loo? Do you know of any other places?

I just wanted to take some pics of the outside and as I walked around it I noticed that the front doors are not even locked or chained. I would be very careful if you go into this old school because it is in very bad shape. I only went on the first floor and part of the second. The floors are completly rotted in some parts. @dsmbear nothing except a bathroom and maybe a classroom or two. when did it close? i still see my kindergarten teacher sometimes.

out of all of the things this song has been put to this is by far the best

i have seen the school before it must have been the pride of the community when it was built many years ago but people move on an get greedy and dont appreciat what has served them so well it deserves to be a museum not a forgotten hero this school served the generation who is in the world now and they leave it for dead sadly this is happening everywere this could be a school again it could be many things if someone cares

I feel like this would be creepy, kinda cool maybe. But something that also might make people feel a little nostalgic because it used to be a place for children! o_o

well its definantly not beyond repair but it will be very expensive to do so. also for a building thats been abandoned for 30 plus years it doesn't look to bad. someday someone will probly do something with it. if it hasn't been done yet.
