@subg88 Such a surprise coming from a mainstream piece of shit like Rolling Stone, isn't it? lol

That Rolling Stone reviewer must have had their heads up their a@*!
This song doesn't feel preachy at all. It feels insightful. The reviewer must have had some very serious issues with his/her own morality. Goes to show you what a powerful song this really is. That reviewer couldn't take it!

Hare Krsna! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Maybe it is a little preachy - but it is effective and it is true! Hari Krishna!

@subg88 agree with rolling stone here not to say that george harrison personally is any one of those things and I disagree if they're intention with that review was to undermine the musical craftsmanship

got some joke lyrics! If you like them and are a record company you should sign me, or just sign me if you have a pen and aren't a record company. I have lots of songs that aren't all jokes, but i like jokes espescially if you look like jokes. hear they are
1.it's easier to be a man than a red caboose
2.it's easier to shoot someone without a house than somebody else (than to beat yourself)
3.it's easier to kill someone than to make a noose
4.it's easier to kill a fly than a golden goose

One of whisest songs of George. Love it.

An excellent song. In reply to subg88: I despise some of the reviews that smug writers feel they have the right to publish. That very review is preaching the writer's own point of view, but he or she is too stupid to realize it.
I love this song. The lyrics are so potent, they're about when Paul McCartney admitted to taking LSD and George thought the media was just being completely stupid about handling it (they were) so he wrote this song. It's really universal, though- it applies to a lot of things.

Rolling Stone dismissed this gem as "unfortunate...persistent preaching," and "a fatuous pronouncement on morality or fidelity or worldly gain or something." Thanks for the insightful analysis! Let's see - to preach would mean to give instruction, but George here is observing that it is "easier to see somebody else's wealth than to see yourself." That's not preaching, that's observing the human nature of reality!
