This story is an overview of President Obama's visit to France where he is
taking part in the G8 Summit. Analysts are viewing his role as an
emerging world leader who has to work more closely with his allies to
solve the turbulent situation in Middle East and Arab countries.
Lawrence Hass at the American Foreign Policy Council says that President
Obama's visit to Great Britain was to consolidate the existing
friendship of both the countries "which has been in sink" on many
important foreign policy fronts including Iraq and Afghanistan. He says
that the US economic situation is not going to affect its leadership
role on the world stage and that US will keep supporting the movements
for freedom and democracy in the Arab world, however Mr.Hass expects
that US and G 8 partners will not be able to collect the proposed aid
amount of 2 Billion Dollars for Egypt and Tunisia. He also says that
there is no urgent pressure on Obama to stop US military action
against Libya at this point.
