This is a brief comparison of a Mesa Boogie Roadking Dual Rectifier versus a Line 6 Flextone III amp modeller set to a amp model to replicate the sound of a Mesa Boogie recifier.

Both amps belong to my bandmate Gary, (you can see my Tremoverb sitting on top of his RK. Gary plays a short riff from a song called 'Airport Syndrome' by my band Vinyl Future.

The video was recorded at low volume, so in theory the Line 6 is at an advantage and should sound better. Both amps are dry i.e. no effects.

i used to have a flextone 3 but i sold it now that i have a ts9 i wish i still had it

Roll back the gain on the boogie. You can get great/usable tones out of some modelers but you can't match a properly dialed dual rec with one.

I can recognize the mesa sound, but in the line 6 it,s like it has pass trough a mixer.... and add to that a little bit of midi sounding, But the main question is.... how much do they cost
