Porini Camp is in the Selenkay Conservation area which lies a few miles North of Amboseli National Park and is an important area for migrating wildlife. The area is leased from the Masai community, who also receive an entry fee for each visitor.
Selenkay Conservation Area is well off the beaten track and has only recently been set up as a tourism destination. It lies in the heart of Masai land where the animals are truly wild and not yet habituated to the presence of vehicles.
Daily Kenya safari activities include game drives in specially designed 4x4 vehicles and guided walks. You can see a wide variety of wildlife in the area including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog and many species of buck. Birdlife is also prolific, especially birds of prey.
