This Giga is the last movement of Guido Santorsola's Three Airs of Court. As the title of the work suggests this is a neo-classical piece forming a mini three movement Baroque suite. Born in Italy in 1904, Guido Santorsola went to Brazil with his family when he was five years old" Raised and educated in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he studied violin and viola, later establishing himself as one of the finest violists in Latin-America. Santorsola graduated in music in the "Conservatorio Dramatico e Musical de Sao Paulo" and later in the Trinity College of Music (London), In the early 1930s he moved to Montevideo, Uruguay.

Three Airs of Court is a lot of fun to play and is a great addition to the guitar's repertoire. I happened across the score while digging through old LP's at a thrift store in my hometown of Great Falls, Montana. There was a stack of music next to the LP's, which I assumed was old piano music. Upon looking closer I saw that it was a stack of classical guitar music! I purchased a six-inch stack of scores for about 50 cents.

I hope you enjoy the music!

  • Wonderful, thank you

  • Great

  • @LFWOL It is a Hill Guitar Company 2001: Munich. I sold it a few years ago in order to step up to A Hill Signature.

  • @LFWOL I used a Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mic run strait into a Sony minidisk recorder.

  • Fantastic sound and interpretation. Excelent

  • I also like the wallpaper, or night light collection, or whatever it is.

  • Beautiful piece and beautifully played. Its hard enough to play a piece like that smoothly, but doing it in front of an audience is a whole other story. Also I appreciate the information on the composer. And the story about how you found the music.

  • hey luther my name is zach. i am your second cousin, april's son. i liked this video

  • Wow! So flowing... quite beautiful.

  • A neat piece and very nicely played. Any chance that this music can be purchased?
