Primitive computer-generated text display from a local channel on Cablevision in Jericho NY. Kids could mail in their favorite jokes to win money, and they would be displayed on the channel along with the kid's name and address! Don't know if any of these people are still at these addresses, but please don't harrass them! Audio is from radio station WBLI.

The good old days of Cable TV, before the scourge of infomercials.

Note that 2 of the kids who sent in jokes (#3 and 5) are clearly related...guess there was no "one entry per household" rule!

These jokes are slightly less crap than the ones on the Popsicle (TM) brand sticks today. :) Also, it might be fun to go Google Earth some of these addresses...

It's a different tape- I think they repeated this same text all night.

Did you get this from the same tape as your other Cablevision Cable Chuckles video or was this a different tape that happened to be recorded from the same station?

Use YouTube Downlaoder... the audio happens to be preserved...

Yeah- I guess I should be thankful they didn't yank the whole thing, but it seems pretty silly of them to do this over something played on the radio 30 years ago. The reason for the muting is that this begins with the Doobie Brothers "China Grove" with a DJ talking over the intro. You can still get this with the sound on other video sites, you just have to look.
