  • At this point, Gram was hanging out with Keith Richards and was greatly influenced by The Rolling Stones (as this video demonstrates). No matter what the debate about Gram Parsons, one thing was for sure - he was a great singer and helped spearhead the country rock scene. The band in this video was pretty solid with Bernie Leadon (later of The Eagles) on guitar, co-founder and ex-Byrd Chris Hillman on bass, the great Sneaky Pete on pedal steel, and ex-Byrd Michael Clarke on drums.

  • GP is amazing, fuck anyone who thinks otherwise!!

  • John Byner (impressionist/comedian) hosted this syndicated show, which was sponsored by the milk-dairy industry. I used to watch it all the time and remember seeing a bunch of up-and-coming artists like Joe Cocker.

  • You can easily tell that Gram and the boys wore makeup and did some old teeth whitening tricks for this video. Given the serious volume of drugs most of them were doing at the time, especially Gram (except for Pete) They must have surely looked like shit. Look closely.

  • You can sure see the Jagger influence.

  • That's NOT Sneaky Pete. This video is stupid. Chris in a sweater vest with Gram fagging out. YETCH!

  • yeah man, Gram was doing as much influencing as the other way around--musically anyway, maybe not in what he was wearing

  • Gram does a great Jagger..or is that..the other way around ? :D

  • @sportstuber11 We opened for em' in 69' Gram writes some great tunes

  • @junkie4vids Funny thing is: I hear also Rolling Stones influence in another bandmember here: the 'almost sloppy' guitar solo by Leadon sounds very like Keith Richards at the time.

  • @rockon1898 Poor old Chris....all anybody wants to know about is Gram; the wise man knows his limitations and the fact is Hillman had the charisma of a caravan site. Gram was lazy and had shitloads of charisma...that's life.

  • you know i have heard people say chris was not happy but he looks like he is having fun to me, i think they were all pretty stoned about this time, and really if you look at it now what gram was doing its not all that outrageous,
