NEPA Crossfit hosted Strong for the Kids, a Strongman competition, with all proceeds benefitting Wilkes-Barre racing, which brings awareness about foster care and adoption to NEPA. Wilkes-Barre racing walked away with cash for their cause. NEPA Crossfit Coach Brennan Morton explained how the competition was going to work. The strongman competition is designed to be difficult and grueling. The competitors proved themselves throughout the various events: yoke carry, dead lift, chest to overhead, farmers carry, sandbag lift, atlas stone, and tire flip. There were three classes: female, heavyweight male and lightweight male. The winners were Vanessa Sterner, Mike Rusonis and Rob Barresse, respectively.
