Phenomenal consciousness remains a mystery in both. Could Matrix/Real be virtual to each other? Sort of...what with the whole 'phone booth uploading' and all--i see no prob with traveling from matrix->reality through a chair of some sort since since one's matrix brain is not a brain & info can travel via hard lines. But, back to Inception--what is LIMBO...still some questions about that. Hows that work? Howd he get younger body guards? what if u die in LIMBO? And after that?
@fedea82 I was just about to say something very similar! Inception seems more brain-as-psyche-centered (die in dream, you just meta-awaken) whereas the Matrix is always bodily-self projections--whether program or brain generated--within the virtual architectonic. In latter case theres no time dilation/contract'n in moving between levels, but presumably theres still dreaming in both (reality & matrix). So, Matrix seems 'it-from-bit' centered.
You may want to see "Inception", there´s a similar pattern there....we don´t know for sure what´s real or not, those type of movies play with that notion and enhance it.
I forget who said these words: When I look out of the window, all that I see I can describe mathmatically. It's not like we live in a mathematical world; it's like the world /is/ maths.
Another way to conceptualise it is (imperfectly) to imagine an inflating bubble ... but not in 3 dimensions; it has no true end point but a 'skin' of infinity. It is this skin where information is worked mathematically and everything 'inside' the skin is kind of a holographic creation of the 'skin program'.
I would have liked it if he found out that the "real world" with the squids was part of another matrix, a matrix embedded in a matrix if you will. :)
