  • @havoc999998 Because on a straight stretch of road, with no car's in front of you - there;s no traffic to clear. The siren is loud and causes hearing loss to those in the vehicle over time. Yes he probably could have turned it on sooner before the intersection. But an accepted practice.

  • @HAZWIZ Yeah, I don't know why but a lot of Paramedic Vehicles in Ontario seem to do that, just use their siren at intersections, same with Police too. Only Fire and Rescue use the siren effectively all through out. When I become a Paramedic I'll use Wail when travelling on straight away's, when I'm about to approach an intersection I'll use yelp and just as about I'm going to enter then I'll activate the piercer or w/e it's called in combination with the air horn.

  • Nice video...too bad the driver of this unit doesn't operate the siren properly. Waiting till your at the intersection to activate doesn't really work in clearing traffic that well.
