The ABCs of how to be successful on YouTube: Alliance, Branding, Collaboration and more!

Success on YouTube is typically not a solo event. It takes other people watching, commenting and supporting each other.

Thanks to YouTube, regular people are re-inventing themselves and creating alliances, building businesses and brands while collaborating with others. Collabs are a good way to support and promote each other.

Even though monetization has been extended to more channels, channels should still strive for full partnership. There are branding options available only to partnered channels such as the banner, the branding box where you can put direct links to websites. But I think the most important partner feature is being able to create your own video thumbnail! Thumbnails can help draw viewers to your video when it shows up in the recommended video box.

  • @thecreativelady Me too! :) It does make a difference. That's great..looking forward to viewing your video.

  • @EvelynParham I know that quality or lack thereof does not stop a video from going viral BUT I would rather have a catalog of great videos just in case someone decides to come visit my channel. I'm about to upload a new video that touches on this a bit more. Thanks for the discussion.

  • @thecreativelady Yes, I do agree that quality is important and it does make a difference with viewers and stats. But I've also seen a lot of videos that go viral and all they did was hit record and upload. It really depends, though. I guess that's why I'm not making videos now, I'm trying to wait until I get my camera and software. :) But in the meantime, if I must make a video, I'll do the best I can for quality.

    Okay, thanks, I'll copyright information.

  • ps your thumbnails are so fun and eye catching! would love to see a DIY on how you do that!

  • Creative Lady, thank you so much for this information, it has been very helpful! I am just getting started with my craft channel and searching for info on how to get subscribers and views. If you have time to check out my DIY videos and give me some feedback I would so appreciate it!

  • @Baruch1girl If my husband wasn't such a NBA and College Basketball fan, I'd turn cable off! But Houston, we'd have a problem! Thank you for commenting.
