  • @amaso1972 If you think that those journalists are the best source, then it's ok because it's your opinion. But my opinion is that personal experience and internet are better sources. West beirut, which is a muslim area, is just as rich as those christian areas that you mentioned, if not more. Back when key positions were occupied by christians, the muslims were only a minority in lebanon and christians the majority.

  • @Tennispro349 Senior journalists who covered the war r the best source;Robert Fisk,Patrick Seale,Sandra Mackey, stated clearly that the Christian minority ruled & oppressed the Muslim majority who revolted for reforms. It wasnt coincidence that Christian areas eg.East Beirut/Jounieh/Matn were prosperous, while Muslim areas eg the south/Akkar/Bekaa had poor infrastructure. It wasnt random that key positions eg.presidency, interior&foreign ministers, chief of army&inteligence were occupied by Christians

  • @amaso1972 My facts are based on personal experience and neutral history, unlike you, who watches Al-manar/NBN/OTV/Any other march 8 tv channel all day. I don't even watch MTV or LBC for that matter. Do some research. PLEASE. Thank you!

  • @amaso1972 YOUR logic is: Kataeb/LF demons, devils, terrorists etc., while PLO are angels sent from god himself to earth.

There is no consensus among scholars and researchers on what triggered the Lebanese Civil War. However the militarization of the Palestinian refugee population, with the arrival of the PLO guerrilla forces did spark an arms race amongst the different Lebanese political factions. -Wikipedia article on the lebanese civil war

  • @Tennispro349 Yr logic is:Syria & PLO r bad & guilty, but the Lebanese r naive innocent doves.Israel,PLO,Syria,Iran,US,Soviets intervened as the majority of neutral journalists/authors state, but the core of conflict was purely Lebanese. The majorly Muslim secular leftists were ruled & oppressed by the minority right wing Maronites, thus Muslims revolted against Maronites.Read neutral History instead of deriving yr facts from Kataeb/LF baised sources eg.MTV,LBC or al-nahar.History shldnt be forged.

  • @amaso1972 They collaborated with them only because they were fighting the PLO. The war continued because syria was trying to take over Lebanon. Facts say that PLO killings and massacres of christian civilians caused the civil war.

  • @Tennispro349 1982 as Israel invaded, the Kataeb didnt fight & collaborated with them against Lebanon, but the PLO fought Israel bravely. If PLO was the cause of the war,why did the war continue & escalate totally until 1990 despite the PLO's withdrawel in '82?Facts say the Kataeb began the war in '75 in the Black Saturday incident at the Beirut port as they killed 300 Lebanese just cos they were Muslim.Kataeb & LF forge facts by blaming the PLO for the war to hide the truth of their guilt & crimes

  • @amaso1972 Yes PLO was the cause of the civil war. Yes they had ties with the zionist enemy, but they were never going to let them take over lebanon. And now they don't have ties with them anymore. No Maronite wanted to take over lebanon and kick out every muslim. Hezbollah, however, wants every lebanese to be shi'a, and they will kill everyone who won't obey them. PLO fired first, then christians retaliated.

  • @Tennispro349 Again, the PLO weren't angels but werern't the cause of the civilwar.Conflicts among the Lebanese exsist since decades. The Kataeb had ties with the Israeli enemy since the 1950's.The lack of political, economic,& culture disintegration among the 19 different Lebanese communal groups caused the war.The war erupted cos the Maronites who were only 25% of Lebanon wanted to rule Lebanon alone by oppressing the Muslims. Thus in '75 as the Kataeb fired the 1st shot,Muslims fought for reforms

  • @amaso1972 Sorry for your father and cousin. By the way, my mother's friend got raped then killed by PLO. My cousin was also murdered by PLO. If PLO had not attacked and murdered innocent maronites, I'm pretty sure that both of your father and cousin would be still alive. Also, thanks, but I don't need books, I'm sure that personal experience is much more trustworthy than a book.
