  • Pretty slow for a staged fight. Too many "Ahh" "Ohh" and such. Spins just scream bad choreography cause it just doesn't work, especially at this slow of a pace. Not bad, but I've seen far far better.

  • Im sorry but isnt stage combat supposed to be choreographed?

  • Women and swords? No

    Women in kitchen? Yes

  • Too slow, too telegraphed too much spinning and trying to look showy, stage combat can look good and realistic, this really needs more practice.

Rehearse more, then you wouldn't need to make your movements so big and obvious to your partner, I know you're trying to show them what's coming next, but you can do that without such large movements. visit an actual HEMA class to see how real combat looks, then mirror that and add flair for stage combat.

  • @allmodcons6 Well, I looked at 'some fucking pictures', and am telling you those aren't heavy fabrics. One case has a semi-heavy fabric. I'll PM you with links for the pictures, as well as my notes on them.

No need to be so overly aggressive. What's with people on YouTube?

  • @DiabolusIgnis mate look at some fucking pictures and tell me they aren't heavy fabrics. organised duels were fought in shirtsleeves yes but most duels weren't that well organised and there were occasions where people fought in full dress.

  • @allmodcons6 You do realize duels like these were actually fought wearing thin white shirts? The reason is simple. They would see the blood from a wound much easier, and no confusion would happen as to who won the duel. On the other hand, the clothes weren't even that thick/heavy at the time.

  • @DiabolusIgnis as in the costume of the time consisted of a lot of heavy woolen fabrics, velvet etc as shown in any period drama of the time

  • @allmodcons6 Heavy fabrics, as in a white shirt? Or what do you exactly mean with heavy fabrics?

  • @DiabolusIgnis still had to pierce heavy fabrics mate so i was right i never said it was a battlefield weapon. armour was being phased out in this period but it was still present

  • @allmodcons6 You're partially wrong, too. You don't 'pierce through the heavy fabrics and armour' with much else then an arrow or a bullet. In fact, you wouldn't fight anyone armoured with these weapons. They were made for duels, and your opponent would most likely only have a half-cuirass to protect from fatal wounds, if any armour at all. As for cutting, you can do it with a rapier, but it's not effective at all, due to the lack of weight on the blade.

  • i like the part where she said ''Ahh''
