He was 75 when he did this gig wow . He was in the pocket so tightly that it chilled me . He never lost his groove at all . Im in total amazment .

@KyriacosKestas When it comes to the upright bass, brand is not nearly as important as it is for electric basses. My advice would be to seek out any violin shops in your area which may have cheaper used basses, and keep an eye on places like Craigslist where uprights can pop up from time to time. But the most important thing is to try out any uprights in person, as you'll want to be sure it sounds good and feels comfortable before you spring for it.

I never thought about the significance of it at the time, but 30 years ago I saw Ray Brown with Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass on the same stage. Now I think..........how incredible was that. As this piece shows, the man was a genius.
