@pacers3115 OK, we will see that when the day ever comes. But until then, people today want photos of them in their everyday lives, not some controlled event! If Paps are not needed, then why do some celebs call them up and give them tips, like Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan? Does not matter though, Paps give people what they want, and it will still be the same for years to come!

The argument is not about what people want to see - it is about whether or not celebs need Paps to be rich and famous. Bottom line, celebs become RICH and FAMOUS (from their work) and THEN are harassed by the paparazzi... not the other way around.

@JEPeachPhotography First, you just mentioned the red carpet - there are countless red carpet events (place for pictures) and countless other scheduled places to see celebs... Second, you JUST said that execs pay top dollar for exclusives... take away the Paps and guess what? Everything beyond these events becomes an exclusive for millions of people to read! Paps are excessive and intrusive. Without them, celebs would still be paid their millions for movies/appearances/endorsement­s/interviews.

Yea, they would have some fame, but most magazines pay top dollar for exclusives, and most people read and watch said exclusives, they really would not care about a billion poses on the red carpet etc... No one wants to watch Brittney Spears on the red carpet, but would rather see her outside living life.

Celebs would be in Mags thru endorsements/ads/contracted pics etc; in videos thru networks/prod companies/tv shows/talk shows/movies etc - again all paid; in the Web since all this contracted work could be on the Net.
