KAREN ARMSTRONG: THE CASE FOR GOD (Part 5)
Karen Armstrong in conversation with Jim Creskey at the Ottawa International Writers Festival.
October 14, 2009 at Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts and Humanities
From the bestselling author of A History of God and The Great Transformation comes a balanced, nuanced understanding of the role religion plays in human life and the trajectory of faith in modern times.
Utter nonsense, double talk and semantics. But, as Ms Armstrong herself admits, it was when (after she was broke and fired from her TV job) she suddenly abandoned critical thinking in terms of god and religion, that she finally had means of a strong financial support and has developed a very nice cash cow.

@philosophywpaul I love meditating. I have always thought it made more sense than prayer. I will continue to visit the wisdoms of people like Armstrong because I find it nourishing. However, the epiphanous moment I search for that tells me the logic of atheism is wrong has not arrived in Ms Armstrong's teachings as of yet. The search continues and I wait with my mind is open.

Perhaps she seems to be saying nothing because if one sees w/empirical eyes that is precisely what she is doing. If I am wearing green goggles, pink does not exist. This is why she emphasizes religious practices like meditation. What do you think?

@jimtrueblue99 I came across Karen Armstrong in my attempts to reconcile my rapidly shredding faith in religion. I admire and respect the depths of her knowledge and the eloquence with which she presents it, but I find that everything she says leads me full circle and I'm left with the same questions despite her best efforts to bring me to a new place. This might be my lack of understanding and I will continue to revisit her words until I am certain. My own frustration is apparent in the post.

@dwwolf2006 An erudite person who has written 22 books and gained an international reputation as a scholar and authority on religion is hardly ignorant. Maybe you just missed the point.

Eloquent ignorance. Karen Armstrong has a long winded way of saying nothing.
