Yes! Actually I caught an episode recently where Maria and Luis sing a song about fireflies partically in Spanish! They are still on the show...not every day, but they are still there...living on Sesame Street with their daughter Gabi, Gordon, Susan, and some newer people. Bob pops in occasionally.

For a while in the '80s, "Sesame Street" discontinued doing skits in Spanish. However, I asked one of my nephews not too long ago, and he said they were doing skits in both English and Spanish.

Speaking of Spanish, I read somewhere that Abelardo, from the mexican Plaza Sésamo, once visited Big Bird in Sesame Street. I wonder if I can ever get to watch that episode.

I miss Maria and the gang from when I grew up. Do kids still learn spanish on Seasame street anymore?

Thanks a lot. Now you'll have kids throughout America calling their parents and teachers "basura."

Damn, Maria can still bring it. Man, I wanted her (when I was 9).

As a fluent Spanish speaker, I must say I'm impressed that they even got the upside-down exclamation point right (1:41): "TRASH!"

I love trash! Anything dirty or dingy or dusty... Anything ragged or rotten or rusty!
lmao!
Love Maria and Oscar's relationship. He always calls her Skinny...and of all the Humans...Maria tolerates him the most.
