  • as you can see, another day another Frenchie.

  • ... or maybe a Finnish one

  • It is really easy to upgrade hdd to ssd on this model. just open 2 srews take hdd out put ssd in and close 2 srews

Yes, ssd prices have been dropping alot.. but if you settle for smaller ssd you can get 32gb for 100 dollars..

  • Is it possible to keep the original hard drive and then add a SSD drive to the netbook, so you have the two hard drives rather than discarding the original hard drive?

  • no. you need t take away the hdd

  • I'm interested in buying a netbook type latptop for carrying around so I can check email, surf the net, check ebay, craigslist...at free internet cafes. It would be my only computer. The rest of the time I use the computers at the college for similar functions.

What do you think of the EEE with the Solid State Hard Drive as compared to the version you are showing?

Which model is the SSD in the 10 inch?

Would you like to make a video comparing such?

  • 10 inch version with ssd is almost the same as this, it looks 100% same but this one has better battyry.

If you ask me, get this 1000he and save a bit more and buy a really fast ssd for it later.

  • frenchie :P

  • I have this netbook and it's excellent. Asus did a really good job on it. It's only a bit heavier than other netbooks.

  • 2Ghz netbook by asus will be shit expensive.... they probs will in 2011? i don't know... but they should....

  • FAIL, XP support is till 2014 and microsoft are still selling it even in 2010 and after 2010 micrsoft are just scared of XP taking over in sales from vista and 7 thats the only problem....

you need to re-search your shit again XP is lasting till 2014

  • this is a good thorough review.

  • Bad news after 2010 Windows XP will not be available on Retail and after i think 2012 the support will also finish

I think now OEMs should use Windows 7 Starter for netbooks instead of XP

  • First the OEMs are not taking the full advantage of the N280. The N280 supports 667 MHz FSB but the OEMs are still using the same old 553 MHz RAM

So this is the reason for the not much improving perfomance RAM should be FASTER AT 667 MHz

The Z550 is a 2 GHz Atom CPU.

  • Yeah, I think Jkk speaks and knows English perfect. I am learning to prounce like him and it got me an A+.

Great review and best quote " Another day, another device."

  • Stop picking on his English sheesh.
