This clip is the Burt Munro that I remember. It is from an 8mm movie taken during 1967 at a quarter mile sprint held near Dunedin, New Zealand. Burt was working on his Velocette as usual.

  • Burt was a good friend of one of the senior engineers where I worked as an apprentice in Dunedin, New Zealand. He used to call in occasionally on his travels between Invercargill and the USA. He would invariably arrive shortly before the morning tea break and of course he would be invited for a "cuppa." Knowing who he was, one of the workers would invariably ask about his latest exploits. Burt was a great raconteur and these morning teas went on some time. The management were also petrolheads
