This is a video I found awhile back about how a Whirlpool Top Loading Washing Machine is made. Now that Whirlpool makes Amana, Inglis, Kenmore, Maytag, and Roper, this is probably the same process for those brands.
Nice to see how this washers are made. I've been repairing this type of appliances for the last 13 years...so easy that I started when i was 10 years old :)
somestuff2day, I agree. American front loaders are extremely expensive maintenance nightmares with 1 year warranties. A secret they manage to keep quiet. But ohhhh they save so much water! LOL!
My front loader uses around 22-27 Gal. of water, compared to 60 gal. with a Kenmore I used to own. I know it used 60 gallons, because I took a 30 gal. can, and 1wash loaded to capacity, filled the can to the top when it discharged. So 1 wash, and 1 rinse used up to 60 gal. My old Hotpoint went down to 41. MY Frigidaire front loader uses at the most, 27 gal. It gets my clothes clean with that little water, and I have used reg. soap all this time. He soap wasn't available when I got mine.
I feel the same way; nice to see a U.S. manufacturing plant in action. I saw a couple Whirlpools I like, both from the U.S. They are priced reasonable, and I bet they'll save a lot in repair costs!
The real cleaning in a top loader takes place in the bottom of the tub and that is where the dirt generally remains until drained. The only thing special about front loader detergent is its sudlessness unless too much is used, lol. The front loader tends to splash the clothes around in the same pool of filthy wash water.
DAMN STRAIGHT!!

Wow ! That was cool! Have never been able to see how these were made. Who would have ever thought it is such a labor intense, complicated process?
