I've done it numerous times many years ago when I had the Mega Drive.
What I do, is hold 1st place for the whole lap, and near the finish line, I let him through to pick up the slipstream, and use the first half of the lap to keep ahead :).
Let him through just before you cross the start finish line so you can pick some slipstream up if needed.

Great drive! You did a great job avoiding all the traffic. And you clipped 2 buggers while gaining 4th and 2nd positoins. I always love it when I do that. I would laugh as the car I just clipped zigzag in a cloud of smoke and got passed by other cars.

Really impressive. I'm not quite sure if I ever won US with Serga when I was a little boy. I definately cant do it now, though.
All I remember is that I used to get Bestwal on the the 5th track I think (i didn't challenge it in the US and in Monaco- my worst track).
