Which Journal?

A good place to start is by choosing the journal in which you would like your work to appear. Making the choice before you start writing will let you focus your task more clearly, and enable you to learn good practice from your chosen journal.

The choice will be based on a variety of issues -- including the journal's area of interest, its status (known as its impact factor), average time delay between submitting a manuscript, acceptance & publication and the overall acceptance rate of the journal.

You will need to discuss this choice with your supervisor or PI, as they will probably have strong views on the best places to publish.
