  • This is wonderful, and I dig your channel... but I have to say, it really seems like the Billy Taylor channel sometimes. That's not bad, I like Billy Taylor... even promoted a college gig with his trio a long, long time ago (great guy)... but I'd love to see some of the other great pianists, too. At the end of the day: your channel, I'm your guest and appreciate your effort nonetheless... just a constructive criticism.

  • @sbuttgereit Yes, I do post quite a bit with Billy. That's because he left me his video archives and asked me to share them. Sadly, I don't have access to many other pianists content. Wish I did!

  • Keep this coming! This is the jazz I grew up on, and it never grows old. Cannonball was one of my idols and I tried like hell to play alto that well. Didn't succeed.

  • It doesn't matter what song Cannonball played on he always sounds great. To me he was the best alto player ever with the best sound ever and no one could out swing him.

  • @MrJasonHite Yes, Jimmy Cleveland. Cannonball was a schoolteacher before he became full-time musician.

  • I don't think I have heard Ed Thigpen play NIT before...interesting.

  • @JazzVideoGuy

Wonderful videos that you share and they are really educating me to the nuances of jazz.

  • HOOOT ! ! !

  • Woof!

  • Two great pieces, very well played. I just love the alto playing of Cannonball Adderly. Thanks for posting this, Bret
